Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.

How it’s Made
Each mug is hand-built from stoneware clay and shaped for balance and comfort. The upper section is carved with flowers, leaves, and butterflies, then hand-painted with underglazes to bring the garden to life. Once bisque-fired, the bottom half is coated in a rich plum glaze that settles beautifully into the carved geometric pattern, creating depth and contrast. A clear glaze seals the top scene to preserve the artwork’s colors, and the mug is high-fired above 2200°F for lasting durability. Food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and microwave-safe.
