Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.
How it’s Made
Hand-built from stoneware clay, the bowl is shaped with a gently wavy, scalloped edge. The exterior is stamped with leafy motifs and glazed in a soft white that highlights the texture. The interior is decorated with intricate underglaze transfers of cats surrounded by small blossoms, layered over a rich blue glaze with green undertones. After bisque firing, the piece is coated in a clear glaze to seal the design, then high-fired to over 2200°F for durability. Food-safe, dishwasher-friendly, and full of charm.
