Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.

How it’s Made
Hand-built from stoneware clay, the dish is shaped and refined before the spiral patterns are impressed and carved into the upper section. The lid is sculpted separately and decorated with a relief dragonfly, then topped with a hand-twisted handle. After bisque firing, the piece is glazed with a combination of earthy browns, deep blues, and creamy whites, allowing the textures to stand out. A final high firing above 2200°F ensures durability, making it food-safe, dishwasher-friendly, and ready for everyday use.
