Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.
How it’s Made
Each Labradoodle ring dish begins with a hand-formed slab of clay, carefully shaped into a shallow dish and smoothed by hand. Once the piece is bisque fired, the dog portrait and floral pattern are applied using a special image transfer technique that fuses the design into the clay surface. After that, a clear glaze is brushed over to seal and protect the artwork, bringing out the rich details in the illustration. Finally, it’s fired again to over 2200°, creating a durable, heirloom-quality finish.
No two are exactly alike — each dish carries its own handmade charm.
