Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.
How it’s Made
Each cup is hand-built from rolled clay slabs and shaped into a rounded form. The bottom section is impressed with a geometric pattern, then coated in a rich, red glaze. At the leather-hard stage, each cat is carefully painted with underglazes to capture unique fur patterns and sweet expressions. After a bisque firing, a clear glaze is applied over the artwork to make it pop, and the cups are high-fired to over 2200°F for durability. Food-safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher friendly, they’re designed for daily use and years of enjoyment.
