Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Paula Bowers! I’ve been creating pottery for over 12 years, drawing inspiration from the rich history of South Carolina ceramics, the natural beauty of our family farm, and the music that moves me.
My work is all about joy—whimsical, functional pieces designed to be used and loved every day, yet crafted with the care and quality to last a lifetime.

How it’s Made
Crafted from stoneware clay, the tray is hand-cut into a square with gently scalloped edges. The border is impressed with a fan-shaped texture that adds depth and visual interest. The central window scene is hand-painted with underglazes to bring out the character of the shutters, glass panes, and terracotta pots. After bisque firing, the piece is finished with a speckled white glaze, and the artwork is sealed under a clear gloss. The tray is then high-fired to over 2200°F for strength and durability.
